Sadly, 8 teams have been eliminated including all teams from Africa namely Egypt, Cameroon and Tunisia. The hosts of the 2020 Olympics, Japan, is also going home after finishing 5th in Pool A. Joining the aforementioned teams are former world power Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and China.

The remaining 16 teams are split into 4 pools. Two pools are in Italy while the other 2 are in Bulgaria.

As you can see, Poland, Serbia, Russia and Argentina are all in Pool H which is the Pool Of Death in our opinion. The matches in this group are a must see for everyone. In case you didn’t know, Poland are the defending world champions.

Pool A also looks exciting with hosts Italy, current VNL Champions Russia and The Netherlands who beat Brazil (3-1) and France (3-2) in Round 1.

Brazil is our top pick to win Pool B. Australia, Slovenia and Belgium will fight to win that 2nd place spot and hopefully win enough points to advance to round 3.

Pool C has 4 teams that can beat each other.
