Coach Kiraly On “Booing” During Matches

The 3 time Olympic gold medalist and current coach of Team USA, Karch Kiraly, finally shares his thoughts on the crowd inside the Macarazinho where all indoor volleyball matches take place.

In this article by freep.com, Coach KK finds the behavior unacceptable.

“It’s a little bit of a bummer when I hear the booing. I don’t think that’s very sportsmanship-like and I would appreciate them just to be there and support the atmosphere because it’s a great volleyball venue. But I think it’s awesome. They love volleyball so it’s really cool to play in front of this crowd.”

Regardless of the booing, he still acknowledges the great atmosphere.

The “booing” has ZERO effect at all with Team USA. They won all their pool play matches and just demolished Japan in straight sets to qualify for the Semifinal Round.

GO USA!
