No Tokyo 2020 Olympics For Destinee Hooker

In an interview released by a Brazilian media site, Coach Karch Kiraly reveals the TRUE reason why Destinee Hooker was and would never be a part of his team since he became the head coach in 2013.

Below is an excerpt from the said interview with Kiraly stating Destinee “DID NOT FIT”.

Coach Kiraly, who lead USA to win the 2014 World Championship, also revealed that he would focus on his 2 left handed opposite hitters this 2019 season: Karsta Lowe and Annie Drews. We’re not sure if 2016 Olympian Kelly Murphy will joint the team later on or her journey with the team has ended.

Less than a week ago, USA Volleyball revealed the preliminary roster for the upcoming VNL that will defend the crown USA won last year.

Setters: Lauren Carlini, Micha Hancock, Carli Lloyd, Jordyn Poulter
Liberos: Tita Akiu, Megan Courtney, Mary Lake, Justine Wong-Orantes
Middles: Rachael Adams, Tori Dixon, Lauren Gibbemeyer, Chiaka Ogbogu, Dana Rettke, Hannah Tapp, Paige Tapp, Haleigh Washington
Outsides: Michelle Bartsch-Hackley, Mikaela Foecke, Kim Hill, Madi Kingdon Rishel, Jordan Larson, Simone Lee, Kelsey Robinson, Kadie Rolfzen, Sarah Wilhite Parsons
Opposite Hitters: Danielle Cuttino, Annie Drews, Karsta Lowe, Krystal Rivers, Jordan Thompson

Noticeable missing is two time Olympian Foluke Akinradewo who is reportedly taking time off but she is expected to join the team later on at the Olympic Qualification tourney in August.

Kelsey Robinson is back to her outside hitter position while Justine Wong-Orantes rejoins the team after missing most of the 2018 season and being replaced by Kelsey as the starting libero.

  1. Karch wants an all white female team it’s evident !!!! All these good players he says don’t fit , yet the team did significantly better in tournaments with them. Shameful to watch but the reality with him as coach
