Murilo is Back!

He’s Back!

After missing the first week of the 2012 World League in Toronto, Canada due to an injury in his right shoulder, outside hitter Murilo rejoins Team Brazil in round 2 of the annual tournament to be hosted by Poland in the city of Katowice this coming weekend.

Brazil lost to Canada and Poland in Round I but prevailed against Finland. Murilo and Team are currently ranked 3rd in Pool B.

“Since the team returned from Canada, I started to practice alongside the group waiting for Bernardo [Rezende’s, Brazil coach] decision. I am feeling good and I want to play. I realized Brazil had less match rhythm than the other teams,” he added. “We wish to improve in the next week and keep getting better until the Olympics.” according to the MVP of the 2010 World Championship in a statement released on the FIVB website.

Joining Murilo in Katowice are setters Ricardo and Bruno, opposite hitters Theo and Wallace, libero Sergio, outside hitters Dante, Thiago, Mauricio, Lucarelli and Joao Paulo, middle-blockers Lucas, Sidao and Rodrigao.

Looks like Brazil is in full force to play against FIN, CAN and POL. We hope to see Giba as well in the coming rounds.

Take note, only the top team in all 4 Pools plus the best second-ranked team & host Bulgaria will advance to the Final Round.

Do you think Brazil will WIN all their matches now that Murilo is back on the team?
