Sheilla Resurrects Unilever!

Sheilla was too much for Team Osasco! She is just amazing! She’s definitely one of the deadliest opposite hitters in the world right now.

In front of 8,500 fans, the MVP led her team to win the the 2010/2011 Superliga Crown against her National Team compatriots Jaqueline, Natalia, Thaisa, Camilla and Adenizia.

We thought the match would be highly contested but Sheilla and Team Unilever played too great to give Osasco any chance. Well, the first 2 sets were exciting and both teams displayed great volleyball but after that Osasco’s energy deteriorated and eventually gave the 3rd set away for Unilever to clinch the match.

Coach Rezende did (has done) wonders for his players. After losing the crown last season to Osasco, Rezende’s touch allowed Unilever to redeem themselves. He was able to convince Sheilla and Mari to join his team, developed Juciely’s dominance in the middle and Dani Lins’ confidence as a setter.

The most decorated coach in the last ten years still yells every now and then but we really admire and respect how he can turn a player to become one of the bests.

Here’s the Full Match:

Match scores: 25-23, 30-28 e 25-19

Stats: (Unilever) Danielle “Dani” Lins 3, Regiane Bidias 8, Juciely Silva 9, Marianne Steinbrecher “Mari” 12, Valeska Menezes “Valeskinha” 5, Sheilla Castro 19, Fabiana Oliveira “Fabi” (L)/ (Osasco) Carolina Albuquerque “Carol” 3, Adenizia Silva 6, Thaisa Menezes 12, Jaqueline Carvalho 5, Welissa Gonzaga 14, Natalia Pereira 14, Camila Brait (L).

Winning the Superliga Crown grants Sheilla and Team to represent Brazil in the 2011 Club World Championships to be held in Qatar later this year.
