After winning the 2011 Brasilia Open last week, the Brazilian team won the Sangya Open after winning a nail biting 3rd set against #2 seeded Xue-Zhang Xi of China: 19-21/ 22-20/ 17-15. Larissa and Juliana pocketed $30,000. Dang!
Misty May suffered a knee injury and had to forfeit the semifinal and bronze medal matches. That sucks! Misty and Kerri finished second last week in Brazil and was expected to fight for the Sangya Open Crown. We hope it’s nothing serious.
The Bronze Medal and the $15,000 have been awarded to Antonelli and Talita of Brazil. No sweat for the Brazilian Team!
MistyKey goes home with $11,000. Not Bad. Their American compatriots Angie Akers and Nicole Branagh finished 5th while 2010 World Champions Jen Kessy and April Ross ended the tourney finishing 7th.
