#12: Just For Stacy

Volleyball fans from all over the world remain united and optimistic for Stacy Sykora’s recovery.

The latest great news we’ve received is that Sykora has already started physical therapy sessions. Doctors are not sure when she will be discharged nor when she can start playing again but what matters most to us is that she’s showing signs of recovery.

We’d like to take the opportunity to share to the rest of the world that Stacy’s high school, The Burleson Independent School District, has set up a fund for her to help with the medical expenses. The Stacy Sykora Fund has been established at the National Bank of Texas in Burleson.

Donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 1869, Burleson, TX 76097.

Also, Stacy’s friends and teammates have also showed their love and support by:

2010 World Champion and Brazilian star, Leandro Vissotto, paid tribute to Sykora by adding her first name on his jersey during Leandro’s semifinal match against Sada Cruzeiro.

Team Pinheiros is Volei Futuro’s opponents but Stacy also received love and support from the 2010/2011 Superliga semifinalist.

In their first semifinal match against Osasco, the players from Volei Futuro added “Stacy Sykora” on their jerseys. It was their first match without Stacy on the court.

American teamamte, Nicole Fawcett, displayed her love and support for Stacy by wearing a customized “Sykora” t-shirt.

Forca Stacy!
