VB Players Help Tornado Victims

Members of the Samford volleyball team in Alabama just made our hearts melt because of what they did.

On August 5th, the Samford volleybelles namely Casey Garvey, Lauren Hutchinson, Katie Murphy, Elizabeth Neisler, Taylor Palmer and Alicia Roth spent a day of relief work in Cordova after devastating tornadoes hit the city last April 27th.

Garvey says…

“I didn’t realize there was so much damage done and still so much left to do. The tornados devastated many families and I feel privileged to have helped put their lives back together. I had an inspiring experience today.”

Roth says…

“I don’t think people realize how devastating these tornadoes were to so many families. Today, I got to see firsthand the damage it did and the lives it ruined. This was definitely one of the most influential experiences I’ve had. I truly enjoyed helping out the community and plan on doing it much more.”

Aside from saving bricks off  of an 1historic house built in the 1800s, the volleybelles prepared a house being remodeled for a family left homeless by the tornado. According to this article, “the house is a part of the “Flipping for Families” mission project led by the Cordova Freewill Baptist disaster relief team.”

Your acts of kindness will inspire everyone.

Thank you so much!
