Margareta Kozuch Heads To Azerbaijan

With greener fields, the German opposite picks Azeryol as her new team this season.

The 2011 and 2013 European Championship silver medalist reveals that she received a lot of offers from various clubs but the Azeri club team gave her the most tempting one she could not refused.

“Azerbaijan league is one of the best. Of course, the main reason is financial side. It was too good offer to be rejected. But, this is also new challenge in my career. I had many offers from different countries. I have postponed the decision until the end of the European Championships.”

Before choosing Azeryol, Maggie was reportedly so close on finalizing a deal with Coach Lang Ping Chinese club team, Evergrande, yet the negotiation fell through.

Source says…

“Maggie’s price tag was a little bit too much for Evergrande. It would’ve been a smart career move for her to play under the great Lang Ping but again Azeryol gave her the most money out of all offers she received.”

The source also adds that the 26 year old was not that prepared to head out of Europe for personal reasons.

As for her salary, per source…

“Her 1 season contract is in the $300,000+ range.”

Have fun in Azerbaijan Maggie!
