Thailand is Moving On

Despite failing to fulfill their Olympics dreams, Thailand is moving on and gears up for the 2012 Grand Prix.

Let’s start at the very beginning…

Tokyo, Japan

After learning their fate, Pleumjit, Apinyapong, Onuma, Tomkom. Malika and the rest of the Thai players became so emotional in their hotel room. Even the coach could not hide the sadness upon learning that Serbia defeated Japan in 5 sets. Whether the match was fixed or not, it was NOT easy for the 2007 Asian Champions.

Our hearts still break when see these pictures…

The very emotional moment in their lives was even caught on tape.

It appears that the Thai Federation believed the team would make it to the Olympics after defeating Cuba in the last day of the competition. We’ve been informed that Thai media people were stationed outside their hotel to record their Olympic moment but a very shocking twist occurred instead.

Watch This: We recommend you to watch the video and witness what Kim Yeon Koung & Team Korea did with the Thai team.

Korean volleyball superstar and one of the world’s best players, Kim Yeon Koung, was joined by her teammates to comfort the weeping Thai players. What we didn’t know was that players from Thailand and Korea have developed a personal relationship aside being Asian volleyball rivals.

In case you’re wondering what Kim said in the video, she was saying that she feels very sad for her friends.

Awwwww…

Here comes the best part…

They left their Tokyo hotel with swollen eyes after a night of tears but as soon as they arrived home in Bangkok at the Suvarnabhumi airport.

They were welcomed this way…

A Heroes Welcome in Bangkok!

It might have been the most heartbreaking moment in their lives after years of hardwork but we give the Thai players all the credit they truly deserve because regardless of the controversies and the drama they still managed to SMILE.

Here’s a proof….

Less than 2 weeks later after this episode, Thailand is now preparing for the 2012 Grand Prix which kicks off tomorrow (June 8th).

Despite srumors that Thailand would cancel their hosting duties for one of Grand Prix rounds and Thai fans planning on wearing “No Spirit” shirts when Thailand faces Serbia, the team continues their volleyball journey. To be honest, we have no idea and we don’t know what to expect from Thailand in the Grand Prix. They started training for the Grand Prix days after the Olympic Qualification and going through a lot of emotions.

Ironically, Thailand will face Serbia and Japan during the Preliminaries.

A lot of emotions involved and controversies have taken place but Thailand is not dwelling from what has happened but they are certainly moving forward as they continue with their volleyball journey.

They might not be in London this year but we hope to see them in Rio De Janeiro in 2016.

The future looks bright for Thailand.

=D
