Ivan Zaytsev VS Trentino

February 16, 2013

Looks like the Juantorena VS Zaytsev Volleyball War is not planning on a PEACE talk anytime soon.

Upon hearing that Ivan Zaytsev and Lube Macerata lost their bid to compete in the Final 4 of the CEV Champions League, Cuban-turned-Italian citizen Osmany Juantorena congratulated Cuneo and also tweeted this:

Translation:

“Giuliani (Lube’s coach) and company were laughing when we went out because they thought they were already heading to the Final (4). What a pity! We’ve (Trentino) already won 2!”

Meowwwwwwwwww!

We really, really hope Ivan and Os will resolve their issues knowing that Os might possibly play for the Italian national team. However, with both of their egos reaching the sky, we don’t see it happening anytime soon.

Come on BBs! Make peace please!

Someone’s bitter!

It’s pretty obvious by now that Ivan Zaytsev is NOT a big fan of Osmany Juantorena and Trentino Volley.

A few months ago, his girlfriend got into a Twitter War with Osmany Juantorena. They were tweeting against each other in regards to the possibility that the Cuban Osmany will play for the Italian National Team since he is now an Italian citizen. Eventually, Ivan’s GF chickened out and deleted all her tweets after the Cuban outside hitter tweeted some words she could not swallow.

Never start a battle girl you know you couldn’t win. Hah!

Ivan’s teammates, Dragan Travica and Cristian Savani, have stated to the media that they are NOT comfortable having a naturalized player, ie Juantorena, on the Italian Team.

Take note, Coach Berruto has NOT ruled out the possibility that he will invite Os this year to train with Team Italia, whose recent success was a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics.

Zaytsev, Travica and Lube Macerata lost the Coppa Italia crown to Trentino last month so now we could safely assume that Zaytsev and crew are still bitter with the defeat.

Upon hearing that Trentino just got eliminated from the Champions League 2 days ago, this is how Zaytsev reacted:

Classy right?

Ivan has the right to celebrate any victory the way he wants to but in our opinion it’s better to celebrate your victory first than enjoy the defeat of others.

What do you think?
