FIVB Grand Prix Ticket Sales In Omaha Is SLOW

This news makes us SAD.

This is the FIRST TIME that USA is hosting the FIVB Grand Prix Finals BUT ticket sales so far have been disappointing.

Per wowt.com:

Unfortunately the Omaha Sports Commission said ticket sales aren’t where they’d like to see them, but they also aren’t necessarily surprised.

Doug Parrott with the Sports Commission told WOWT 6 News about 4,000 people came through the doors of the CenturyLink Wednesday over the course of three games. The center holds 17,000 people.

You could see thousands of empty seats in the stands during the 5:00 match where Russia took on Japan. Although that isn’t the attendance the Sports Commission would prefer in an ideal world, they said they weren’t shocked.

Parrott explained that they didn’t even know which teams were coming until Saturday and they didn’t know the final schedule until Sunday. He said these factors made it difficult to promote.

“It turns out we have 6 of the top 7 countries in the world coming here. So we got the best of the best, but we just couldn’t say it until [now]. So we’re hoping this weekend, which is going to be an incredible weekend, it will start picking up.”

The GOOD NEWS is you can still BUY your tickets for today until Sunday.

If you’re in Nebraska, live close or willing to drive and fly to CenturyLink Center and see Brazil, Italy, Japan, Russia, China and Team USA then CLICK HERE TO BUY YOUR TICKETS.

You can also get your ticket at the door.

July 22nd Attendance:

Brazil vs China: 2,500

Italy vs Russia: 3,600

USA vs Japan: 5,105

In our opinion, ticket sales is slow maybe because Brazil and China SOME TEAMS sent their B Teams. You can’t create much hype without superstar players like Sheilla, Fabiana, Thaisa, Zhu Ting & Kosheleva.

The location may also be a factor.

Just saying.

Any Thoughts?
