Soccer Time for Argentina!

Argentina prepares to take on Bulgaria… playing soccer!

The South-Americans arrived in Sofia after an eternal trip. The endless hours of the journey didn’t affect the players’ humor.

Watch This:

Argentina started it trip on Wednesday from Buenos Aires. A stop in London and 20 hours were necessary to arrive at Sofia. There, Javier Weber’s team will face weekend 4 of the World League’s Intercontinental Round Match next Saturday and Sunday against home squad. The group had no rest; only a few hours from the arrival to stretch the legs and clear the head, and players went to Arena Armeec for a 3 hours training session that included physical and technical exercises. There they will also play the official matches.

Even though it was very hot, the team had fun and relaxed with a soccer match played between staff and players after volleyball training. Iván Castellani transformed in Messi, scoring a great goal. The opposite hitter showed his skills: “Barcelona is already asking for me” joked on his Facebook account later.

Argentina will face the first official match at 8p.m. local time. On Sunday, at the same hour will be the rematch. Weber analysed the preparation of the team: “We work more than many people believe. We have to take profit of every moment because we’ve been together only for 5 weeks”.

These two liabilities are important because Argentina can overcome Bulgaria on the third place of the ranking. The home team won its last games against France 3-2 and 3-0. In opposition, Argentina lost its matches against Brazil in three.

After the end of the fourth weekend, Weber’s team will travel to Poland where they will play their next matches on June 28nd and 30th against the Polish.

Argentina’s roster:

Setters: Luciano De Cecco and Nicolas Uriarte
Hitters: Ivan Castellani and Bruno Romanutti
Wing-Spikers: Federico Pereyra, Rodrigo Quiroga, Nicolas Bruno, Pablo Bengolea and Cristian Poglajen.
Middle blockers: Pablo Crer, Sebastian Sole and Martin Ramos.
Libero: Alexis Gonzalez
