Despite the global recession, the teams competing at the 2011 World League starting this weekend is guaranteed a great amount of money to help them with their expenses and to fund their volleyball programs in their respective countries.

According to this site, the 2011 World Bank League has $18.5 Million Dollar to give away. Below is the breakdown:

First Round Matches (96 in total)

Winning team receives US$800 per player (total of 12) for US$9,600 per match
Losing team receives US$400 per players (total of 12) for US$4,800 per match

Total for the 96 matches alone is US$1,382,400
