Peru Fires Coach Via Email

Seriously?

Francisco Chico dos Santos Peru Fires Coach Via Email

While on vacation in his motherland Brazil, Francisco ‘Chico’ dos Santos received an email from the Peruvian Federation stating effective immediately he is no longer the coach of the women’s national team.

Termination via email? How Unprofessional Classy!

While the Federation insists that Chico’s contract is only good for a certain number of months (like 5 months?) even though they revealed sometime last year that he’s the chosen one to coach the women’s team up to the 2016 Olympics, Chico is shocked and frustrated with the news.

Take note, sources say that the Federation is only making up excuses.

“They hired him up to the 2016 Olympics in Brazil. If they didn’t, then why did they approve his vacation to Brazil and even bought him a round trip ticket? After they emailed him, Federation officials canceled his return ticket.” according to our source.

To control the damage, Peruvian volley officials stated that Chico’s contract was only good until December 31st, 2012 and they’re NOT going to make any further statements in regards to Chico’s case.

Francisco Chico dos Santos peru Peru Fires Coach Via Email

Ok fine!

We respect their decision but why would they fire someone via email? Perhaps a face to face meeting behind closed doors would’ve been more ideal and more professional. Just our opinion.

We can totally smell some DRAMA brewing in the next few days….

Too bad that corruption has the power of the Peruvian Volleyball Federation. There are a fanaticism for volleyball in Peru but due to mismanagement that for years have been doing the leadership, are still unable to improve the standard. Although such recently won the South American volleyball minor category, that triumph is only the result of the dedication of the players and technical command, because the leadership to this day does not even provide a proper place where to train, do not have the proper floor, the players do not have health insurance when they are injured, they have to beg for them to receive medical care and lost several players quickly ended his career, having to afford themselves and rehabilitation operations . Now what they made to coach Jose Francisco Dos Santos is only the latest example of what this new president of the FPV, Mr. Luis Linares is able to do, fire via e-mail to a technician of recognized ability, they found uncomfortable as he demanded better conditions where teams could train and prepare, that’s one of the reasons for his untimely dismissal. The leaders of technicians changed 6 times in the last six years, none have even Olympic cycling instead these leaders have over 15 years in office have over 15 years taking turns in office with the support of other leagues in the interior of the country, which in exchange of gifts and bribes, have elected them over and over again. It´s a shame

Congrats for the report. Thats the kind of thing we cant allow in the volleyball! The Peruvian federation showed how unprofessionally they are..what a shame! I admire the work of Jose Francisco, he is a great coach and doesn’t deserve this kind of treatment…I am sure he will go to something much better than this national team of Peru… Mr Linares also proved that he doesn’t know nothing about volleyball firing a coach as Chico.

  8. Irma says:
