Let Others Host!

Actually, we AGREE with Coach Ze.

After a disappointing performance (Brazil 5th) at the recently concluded World Cup, Coach Roberto didn’t waste a day and faced the media as soon as he arrived in Brazil. One of the major major subjects he shared was his proposal to the FIVB to allow other countries host a major major tournament.

To make the long story short, he has proposed to allow other countries host instead of Japan – who has successfully hosted FIVB tournaments for many many years.

“I think it’s time to halt these tourneys in Japan . Bring the World Cup to Brazil or to Europe. The Grand Prix could be held all in Europe because, for example, it’s very exhausting for a lot of teams to fly all the way to Japan. For Japan to host, it’s great. They make their own hours, can train every day if they want to or not. But for others, it is extremely complicated.” says Coach Ze who has also complained on the “point system” used at the World Cup.

We don’t agree to what he says all the time but in all fairness Coach Ze he has a good point.

Side Dish: Since Brazil failed to finish in the Top 3 at the World Cup, they will compete in May 2012 at the South American Championship against teams from Argentina and Peru. The winner will advance to the 2012 Olympics.

Good luck to Brazil! We know they will come back stronger next year to defend their Olympic Crown!
