Is 2017 the year for trans volleyball athletes?
The Italian League has Tifanny, Brazil has Isabelle and now making headlines is Tia Thompson from Hawaii.
The 32 year old has been approved by USA Volleyball earlier this year to play in the women’s division after completing all the requirements including hormone therapy for at least a year and updating all forms of identification from male to female.
Tia’s ultimate dream is to compete with Team USA at the 2020 Olympics.
