The Season Is Over For Thomas Jaeschke

We really felt that 2018 would be his year with Team USA.

Sadly, the season is over for the American outside hitter after tearing his ACL from a spike approach a few days ago during a VNL match against Serbia.

At the post match press conference last Friday, Coach Speraw told the media that Thomas would be out for a while.

“Thomas had a real significant knee injury. He’s going to be out for quite a while. We’re heartbroken for him and I know he’s been playing great volleyball and has become such a great leader on our team. It hurts us.”

His Italian club team, Verona, is in touch with USAV for updates on his injury and recovery. They will for sure be looking for a replacement.

With this injury, the 24 year old will miss the upcoming World Championship. Thomas will have surgery and recovery may take up to 6 to 9 months or longer.

Get well soon Thomas!!!
