June 12th, 2012 UPDATE:

Such a very sad news.

More than a month ago, we reported that Dominican Republic’s Brenda Castillo was pregnant.Now. we’ve received the news that she lost her baby. One of the world’s best liberos was even spotted over the weekend watching the Grand Prix held in Santo Domingo. See pic below:

It looks like she’s doing fine.

As a matter of fact, she’s already preparing to compete at the 2012 Olympics.

That quick? Yup!

According to our source, she has 15 days to get back in shape to make it to the team. She will not compete at the ongoing Grand Prix at all so that she can focus on the upcoming Olympics.

We’re glad to see Brenda is ok and that she’s on track to fulfill her Olympic dream.

This can only mean one thing…

Brenda will NOT play at 2012 London Olympics.

According to our source, one of the world’s best liberos from the Dominican Republic is 3 months pregnant and Coach Kwiek is already in the process of looking for a replacement. This is going to be a tough task for the team to look for someone as great or as good as Brenda.

Her absence will for sure affect Dominican’s chances at the upcoming Olympics which is just 79 days away.

On the other hand, the 19 year old is still going to play during the first round of the upcoming Grand Prix which starts next month. Seriously, we can’t imagine Brenda still playing while pregnant. That’s a little risky!

Anyways, congratulations to Brenda & we wish her a healthy pregnancy!

THOUGHTS?
