Good news is that both surgeries were successful.

The BAD NEWS is that both players will most likely miss the 2014 FIVB World Championship.

2012 Olympic Champion Maxim Mikhaylov will need six weeks to recover after an ankle surgery he sustained last April during the Russian Super League which his he and team Zenit Kazan won.

Maxim says:

“The operation was successful but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to play in the World Championship. Estimated recovery time – 6 weeks.”

As for Sivo, he is OUT of the World Championship for sure because he needs 4 months to recover after a hip surgery done in Italy yesterday, June 19th.

“The operation was successful. The time of recovery is not known, it may take three to four months.” according to the 2013 European Champion.

In case you didn’t know, the World Champs will be held in Poland from August 30th to September 21st.

We hope Maxim can still make it. Have a speedy recovery guys!
