Martino Badmouths Volleyball

So a few days ago (see below), Martino decided to badmouth his former club team. Now, it appears BB truly enjoys biting the hand that’s feeding him. We’re a little worried about this man. He hasn’t really said anything nice about the sport that has embraced him.

He was recently asked if he even plans on returning to indoor volleyball and this is what he said:

“Non torneò assolutamente. La pallavolo non mi piace. Più ci giocavo e più mi rendevo conto che non mi piaceva. Non mi piacevano tutte quelle regole, tutti che ti trattano come un bambino: bisogna fare quello, questo, quell’altro… Ed essere vestiti tutti uguali, è come se non si fidassero dei giocatori e a me non va”.

Google Translate…

“I won’t be back to the indoor for sure. I don’t like volleyball. The more I played the more I realized I didn’t like it. I didn’t like all these rules, everybody acting with you like you were a kid: you need to do this, that. And using everybody the same clothes, it’s like they don’t trust the player and I can’t stand with that”

Again, he is entitled to his own thoughts and opinion. But what’s up with him lately? It appears Matteo is having some serious volleyball issues. Sad. On the other hand, we don’t expect him to be playing for Italy anytime soon because at the moment they DON’T NEED him! Italy has Savani, Parodi and Zaytsev who are way better than him.

Hope a bird poops on his head and wake him up! LOL!

One thing we’ve learned and believe in life: Never bite the hand that fed or feeds you. It appears Italian outside hitter Matteo Martino doesn’t believe in this.

Sorta…

After all the speculations that he’d leave his club team Lube Macerata, our Italian BB confirmed his transfer after being presented by Casa Modena as a new member of their 2011/2012 roster which includes Dutch player Dick Kooy and Matt Anderson from the USA.

Knowing he’s got a signed contract, Matteo told the press that the 2 years with Lube Banca Marche Macerata were the two worst years of his professional career. He also added that if he couldn’t picture himself playing with them for another year.

Is that so Matteo?

He revealed that there was no leadership present among the players and there were other problems as well which forced him to stop playing for the National Team because he would see the some people he dislikes from Macerata.

Damn. Someone’s feeling bitter here.

Due to the relationship he had with the Macerata, Matteo decided to try beach volleyball to forget about the drama wherein he attained some descent results both in Italy and professionally.

As for his new club team, Matteo said that he had no second thoughts at all. The team is very encouraging and very excited for the coming season. He also can’t wait to train and play when the Italian League kicks off.

Matteo is entitled to express his thoughts.

We wish he was more professional with what he wanted to say about his former club team. You know what we mean? He could’ve just said “things didn’t work out” or “I played for 2 years with Macerata and although there were some issues I’m happy to leave them behind with my new team.”

Anyways, we hope his words won’t haunt him later on.

Sometime saying less is best.

G-luck BB!
