UPDATED: We’ve found this other video from the tragic incident in Greece more than a week ago.
As far as we know, these idiots who cause troubles aren’t volleyball fans. It has something to do with soccer rivalries (?) among fans. We understand how much these morons love their soccer teams but their actions are UNACCEPTABLE! They should get arrested and face the consequences of their irresponsible actions.
Take note, the attack occurred while a player was on the floor HURTING and IN PAIN. We wonder where the hearts of these troublemakers went.

We’ve been informed that a very serious act of violence took place in Markopoulo, Athens last Saturday during a league match between Markopoulo and Panathinaikos. Dozens of hooded hooligans entered the gymnasium during the first set and started throwing stones, sticks and other objects at almost 500 volleyball fans. As soon as the violence started to escalate, some fans participated in the battles while some left the gym for their safety.
It took a while for security to stop the violence because there were just a few policemen on duty. No reported casualties as of press time.

We think it’s about time for the Greek Volley Federation to really focus on creating some kind of plan to protect the fans and the players. It has happened before then it happened again and it can happen anytime soon.
