Earvin’s Official Statement released yesterday regarding the incident. His next court appearance is in November.
Translation:
I thank you for your messages of support in this difficult time, even if I chose to remain quiet until now. The reality of the facts from earlier this week is far from what has been reported since Tuesday.
Unfortunately, this has lead to shortcuts in the press and heavily biased judgments towards me, which impacts me very negatively. I obviously never “mugged” anyone nor did I let the success go to my head and asked for a train to be stopped for my own benefit.
Today the investigation is closed and I trust the judiciary system of my country which will know how to do its job outside of the context biased from the get go.
Last but not least, so that we keep talking about the French volleyball for good and real reason, I look forward to go back on the court and win more titles, with the French national team in particular.”
The judge will have the decision in about 4 months.

As of press time, Earvin was questioned and released by French Police.

Definitely not the kind of news we’d want to share.
Earlier today, FIVB World League Champion and MVP Earvin Ngapeth was arrested by French Police after assaulting a train controller at the Paris-Bordeaux station according to europe1.fr.
The controller refused to grant Earvin’s request to wait for one of his relatives to board the train.
Earvin then hit the controller which resulted to a minor injury.
The 24 year old is scheduled to appear in court within a few days.
In case you didn’t know, Ngapeth also dealt with police back in 2013 due to a fight at a club.
Earvin, don’t let success get into your head please!
