Iran To Hold A “BIG BALL” Volleyball Tourney

The BIGGER The BETTER?

Iran is getting innovative with volleyball and will hold a “BIG BALL” tournament next month at the Azadi Sports Complex.

Per FIVB:

The Iran Volleyball Federation has introduced a new, fun variation of the game called Big Ball, which could be an attraction at the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World League tournament in Tehran from June 9 to 11.

Big Ball is a game played by two teams of 10 players on a 9m x 11m court divided by a net without an antenna. The object of the game is to send the 38kg ball over the net into the opponents’ court within 15 seconds. The match is played in two 15-point sets.

The ball is put in play at the service line as the starting point, where a leader wearing a different jersey instructs where to place the ball into the opponents’ side of the court. The rally continues until the ball is grounded or a team fails to return it properly.

This look FUN!!!!
