Reid Priddy Speaks…

Tweet! Tweet! Tweet! Tweet! Reid Priddy has spoken…

Being the captain of the team, we deeply appreciate Reid for his bold act of sharing how he felt/feels after Team USA’s World League matches this weekend versus Poland.

In case you didn’t know, Reid and Team USA hosted the matches at the Sears Arena (Hoffman Estate, Illinois) in front of thousands of fans.

When we say FANS we mean 90% Polish fans – just an estimate. More than 4,700 attended the first match last Friday with Poland winning it in straight sets and 1,300+ more on Sunday which Team USA won in 4 sets.

What really bothered us during these 2 matches was how some Polish fans acted.  Knowing that it was a home match for Team USA, we expected cheers from the crowd but we heard BOOs instead.

For example, a symphony of boos could be heard each time a US player would serve the ball. Also, when we clicked the live link for the match on Friday, we seriously thought it was a replay from the earlier match which Poland hosted.

It looked like an away match for Team USA. We’re not kidding!

Despite of the environment, we deeply admire how the US players handled the wave of Polish fans at the Sears Arena. They managed it well. Plus, most of these guys are used to this kind of crowd (ie, the hecklers and the boos) when they play overseas.

Anyways, Reid succeeded his previous tweet with this…

It’s all water under the bridge now.

The Polish Team will go home to prepare for their matches against winless Puerto Rico.

Reid and Team USA will head to Tulsa, Oklahoma to play against Brazil. For more details and ticket information, click THIS. We hope to see more USA FANS next weekend!

On the other hand, we can’t wait to see how the torcida aka Brazilian fans will behave in Tulsa.

Side Dish: Isn’t it ironic?

We wish both teams the best!
