Phil & his Ladies

We’re so lucky to have met an FIVB Press Delegate named Phil who had the chance to witness the Women’s World Champs and also met a few of the world’s best players, ie Naz from Turkey, Russia’s Kosheleva and Brenda from Dom Rep. Phil shared a few pics to us and some words on his experience meeting the amazing athletes.

NAZ AYDEMIR: We selected her for an interview because she was the youngest starting setter in the tournament. She’s very good-looking, intelligent young lady with an interesting past. She already played as the first setter in the Turkish Pro League when she was 15. She led Turkey to an outstanding 6th place, best ranking ever. Gorgeous smile!

Side Dish: Naz played pro-volleyball at 15? WoW!

Tatiana Kosheleva: We chose her cause she was the best spiker at that moment (and also at the end). We were wondering why she was born in Minsk (Belarus), but playing for Russia. Beautiful young lady, perhaps one of the best talents of her generation. Led her team together with Gamova and Sokolova to another World Champion title. Likes laughing but she’s very serious during game time, but very easy-going beside the court.  She’s very charming!

Side Dish: We love Koshe! She’s only 21 and she’s the world’s best spiker! Love her!

Brenda Castillo: We picked her cause the Dominicans were about to leave the tournament after a disappointing performance, but Brenda never lost her smile during and after the match. It was not just the number of digs she made that was impressive, but the manner in which she accomplished them.  Brenda was all over the court, keeping the ball in play repeatedly when it appeared there was no hope. Impressive.  Beautiful eyes!

Side Dish: We admire Brenda’s attitude on the court. She’s always out there having fun and playing hard!

A Billion Thanks Phil for the pics and for the words! Best wishes! Take us with you next time…ok bb? =)
