From the Russian President…

This is just amazing! Even if their President took time to congratulate the Gamova and team after winning the 2010 World Championship. Here’s what President Dmitry Medvedev said:

“It makes me happy to congratulate you on your triumphant performance at the [FIVB Women’s] World Championship in Japan,” the message read. “You won this victory through hard struggle, and displayed true team spirit, excellent sports skills, and strength of character in the final game against the Olympic champion team from Brazil. You defended your champion’s title and once again confirmed the high level of Russia’s Volleyball school. I wish you new achievements and all the very best.”

Side Dish: Imagine if US President Obama congratulated the women’s team after winning the 2010 Grand Prix? It would’ve been amazing too! It would’ve given volleyball in the USA a much needed exposure/ publicity. Someday. Did USA Volleyball’s CEO/President DOUG BEAL even release a statement congratulating Logan and team? He didn’t right? Well we suggest he can release a statement next time. Just saying.
