Pesaro Signs a Cardinal

Pesaro loves American athletes!

It was just a rumor a couple of months ago and now it’s official!

Italian club team, Scavolini Pesaro, has hired Alix Klineman for next season. Alix, who turns 22 later this year, replaces Croatian outside hitter, Senna Usic, who will be playing in Turkey next season.

In case you didn’t know or not familiar with Klineman’s success in collegiate volleyball in the Us, well read some of her achievements in 2010:

  • Volleyball Magazine National Player of the Year
  • Pac-10 Conference Player of the Year
  • AVCA and Volleyball Magazine First Team All-American, becoming the program’s eighth four-time All-American
  • The second Stanford Cardinal player ever to record over 2,000 kills, finishing second at Stanford and fifth all-time in Pac-10 history with 2,008

Alix is a very talented player and can really do wonders for her team. No doubt she will shine in Italy next season. Alix & Pesaro will also compete at the prestigious Champions League.As long as she doesn’t leave get hurt before the Playoffs, Alix should be fine.

Contract details were not disclosed.
