Matlak & Kasia Make Peace?

O M G!

Is this for real? Is this a photoshopped image of Coach Matlak and Kasia?

It’s a real pic of Poland’s Coach Matlak greeting Kasia Skowronska with a kiss last Friday during the Final Match of Poland’s Women’s League.

In case you didn’t know, Kasia has been very outspoken in the last year or so that she won’t play for Poland as long as Matlak is the coach due to conflict. To make the long story short, Kasia has/had issues with Anna Baranska-Werblinska so Matlak had to take a side.

Since Kasia underperformed at the Grand Prix, he took Baranska instead to the 2010 World Championship. As far as we know, Kasia found out that she got axed from the team via the internet. She was not directly informed about the decision. Kasia got hurt, packed her stuff and decided to never return to the team with Matlak as the coach.

Kasia eventually revealed that the reason why she didn’t play well at the Grand Prix was because Matlak’s training program was not enough to utilize her skills and it was the reason why Poland failed to finish in the top 3 at the World Champs. Of course Matlak denied these allegations and the rest is history.

Back to their picture…

First of all, we are super happy to see this pic regardless if they did it for publicity or they did it because they are OK now. Matlak has not closed his doors for Kasia and Kasia has also stated that her return is a possibility in the near future.

Even if they don’t like each other professionally, we can only assume that they are ok or at least Facebook friends on a personal level.

We really hope their meeting last Friday will rekindle their love-hate relationship & eventually allow them to mend fences and represent Poland together once again. Knowing that Glinka, Kaczor, Bednarek & Jagielo are not on Matlak’s roster this season, having Kasia will boost Matlak’s roster for sure!

Thoughts?
