The MPSF Playoffs wasn’t just about the UCSB Gauchos causing a major major upset against #1 seeded USC but the event also welcomed a few USA National Players and other familiar faces.
During the semifinal match between UCSB and Long Beach State, Evan Patak came to watch and support UCSB. In case you didn’t know, Evan graduated from UCSB and had an outstanding collegiate career representing The Gauchos.
Outside hitter, Matt Anderson, was also spotted together with PSU alum Max Holt, former LBSU stars Dustin Watten & Tyler Hildebrand. In case you didn’t know, our American BBs have been recently named on the 2011 USA Men’s Roster. After the pro season, these guys are back in the gym to train hard for the 2011 international season.
2004 Olympian, current USA setter and former USC Trojan star, Donald Suxho, was also spotted during the USC vs UC Irvine semifinal match.
Rounding up our Guest List are USA Volleyball Royalties namely MPSF Commissioner, Al Beaird, with Olympian and Pro Beach Volleyball Legend Sinjin Smith, Olympic Gold Medalist and U.S. Men’s National Team Ass’t Coach Gary Sato, and Olympic medical delegate Stephen Paulseth.
It’s great to know and great to see popular faces watched and supported the event.
We’re a little sad now that we completely missed out the event!
