Italian League’s Best Players

The awards keep pouring in!

One of Italy’s top news and media agency, La Gazetta dello Sport, has revealed it’s Top 7 Players in the Italian League for the 2011/2012 season. Technically, they’d chose 7 but since there’s a tie in the “libero” category, so they have 8.

Anyways, here are the Magnificent 7 8!

Middle Blocker: Luigi Mastrangelo (Bre Banca Lannuti Cuneo)

Middle Blocker: Marko Podraščanin (Lube Banca Macerata)

Libero: Hubert Henno (Bre Banca Lannuti Cuneo)

Libero: Jean-François Exiga (Lube Banca Macerata)

Opposite Hitter: Alessandro Fei (Sisley Belluno)

Outside Hitter: Osmany Juantorena (Itas Diatec Trentino)

Outside Hitter: Christian Savani (Lube Banca Macerata)

Setter: Raphael (Itas Diatec Trentino)

We were hoping to see Matt Anderson (USA) on this list since BB is playing an amazing season so far with Casa Modena. Igor Omrcen (Lube Macerata) would’ve been a great pick in the Opposite Hitter category. Raphael is a good choice but a tie with Nikola Grbic (Bre Banca Lannuti Cuneo) would’ve been great.
