Dominican Republic is officially one of the world’s BEST 6 teams!
Dela Cruz and the Dominican Republic might have lost their 2 matches in the Final 6 BUT they should hold their head high moving forward because they accomplished MORE THAN everyone’s expectations from the tournament.
Dela Cruz, who was among the top scoring machines throughout the tournament, told the media after losing their last match versus Brazil:
“The Domincan team worked very well and hard before the World Championship. We go away very happy with our accomplishment in this World Championship. I fell very good with myself.
I knew what we were going to play against, the best teams in the world.
I’m satisfied personally.”
The 27 year old opposite-hitter-turned-outside-hitter is the Best Scorer, 7th Best Spiker and 3rd Best Server in the 3rd Round.
After the World Championship, Dela Cruz will return home, take a short break and then fly to Turkey to join her new club team, Eczacıbaşı Vitra, together with several Volleywood superstars Jordan Larson (USA), Christiane Furst (Germany), Neslihan Demir (Turkey) and Maja Poljak (Croatia).
