Eczacibasi Forming A “Dream Team”

With these new and great players on board, it looks like Turkish club team Eczacibasi will give Fenerbahce and Vakifbank a run for their money!

Eczacibasi, who has been struggling in the Turkish League and Champions League, for a couple of seasons have HIRED 3 of the world’s best players and they are 2012 Olympic silver medalist Jordan Larson, Dominican Republic’s scoring machine Bethania Dela Cruz and German tower Christiane Furst.

A source familiar with the transfers tells Volleywood:

“Jordan Larson is one of the best players in the world right now. She can do it all. In the 2013/2014 season, she won the Champions League, the World Club Championship & the Russian League with her Russian club team Dinamo Kazan. Jordan is really going to strengthen Eczacibasi. She will do a better job compare to her predecessor Senna Usic who might play in the Polish League next season.”

The source said that Eczacibasi was not very happy with the results this season.

“They paid a lot of money for Christa Harmotto and Helena Havelkova but then they got injured.”

The source also adds that Dela Cruz and Furst received “BIG” offers from Eczacibasi they could not refuse.

“Eczacibasi is rich so they have the money to spend on hiring players they think will help them achieve their goals for the 2014/2015 season.” ends the source.

In case you didn’t know, Turkish superstar Neslihan Darnel Demir is already on the team and joining her is Croatian middle blocker Maja Poljak. To be honest, we’re so excited with the Poljak-Furst combo. Seriously, they are 2 of Europe’s best middles and they can for sure give Eczacibasi a lift.

Turkish League next season will be very exciting. Take note, Brazil’s Sheilla Castro is unofficially part of Vakifbank’s “Dream Team”. We’d talk more about that later once it’s confirmed…
