Olympic Champion Hui Ruoqi Makes BARBIE History!

This news makes us want to play with Barbie again!

Former star player of the Chinese volleyball team, Hui Ruoqi, makes history for being the FIRST volleyball player to have her own Barbie inspired doll. The 2016 Olympic Champion is part of Barbie’s latest collection called “Inspiring Women” which includes other women who have made history like Amelia Earhart (American aviation pioneer), Frida Kahlo (renowned Mexican artist) and Gabby Douglas (Gymnastics Champion).

“As a brand that inspires the limitless potential in girls, Barbie will be honoring its largest line up of role models timed to International Women’s Day because we know that you can’t be what you can’t see,” Lisa McKnight, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Barbie, said in a press release.

“Girls have always been able to play out different roles and careers with Barbie and we are thrilled to shine a light on real life role models to remind them that they can be anything,” McKnight added.

The doll is not in stores or online yet but you can click this link to check for availability.

Congrats Hui and to all the inspiring women!
