Alabama A & M Fights Bullying

We need more schools and team to do something like this!

We recently learned that Alabama A&M women’s volleyball team has launched an anti-bullying campaign throughout the state to raise  awareness about the bullying problems in and around local schools.  The players met up with students at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Student Transition Academy in Memphis, Tennessee to launch their campaign.

According to THIS article:

“Bullying has become more prevalent than ever and has reached epidemic proportions. In today’s world, torment from bullies far exceeds what modern parents remember bullying to be. Ninety percent of forth through eighth graders report being victims of bullying. A&M is committed to providing educational classes for teachers and students to address bullying in the classrooom. The program challenges participants to reflect on the reasons behind bullying and their personal role in stopping and preventing bullying behaviors. The interactive class engages children with storytelling, skill practice and arts and crafts. The lessons empower students with skills needed to stop the taunting and intimidation that plague so many of their lives.”

We’d like to thank the players for this program! We totally support their mission!
