Westminster Christian School BANNED Jimmy Jennings from attending his graduation yesterday. His parents asked the school to allow their son to do his graduation walk because they feared it might jeopardize his future.
The school stated the he would still get his diploma but they won’t allow him to do his graduation walk. Jimmy Jennings also missed his high school prom but a few of his true and loyal friends visited him after the event so that he wouldn’t get more depressed.
Ouch!
Jennings plans to attend medical school at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Santo Domingo and his parents are afraid that their son might not get accepted if the disciplinary action remains on his record.
The school has released this statement:
Westminster conducted a thorough investigation of the allegation, which included interviewing the student in question, and reviewing the video of the incident and sworn statements from public school officials, and witnesses provided by the Miami-Dade School Board Police. This due process resulted in the schools decision to suspend the student for the remainder of the school year.
Detectives have determined not to file any charges since there was no criminal intent after watching the video.
The referee, Olivia Harrington, might not be too happy that she could not file any charges but we hope she is satisfied with what the school has done to Jimmy. In addition to Jimmy’s suspension, the school also fired the coach.
