STAR STUDDED LIST!

Per pac-12.com:

Comprised of four setters, three middle blockers, eight outside hitters and one libero, Pac-12 Networks revealed the Pac-12 All-Century Women’s Volleyball roster on ‘Pac-12 Sports Report’ Monday night.

Sixteen players were chosen from a field of 60 nominees who were chosen by each Pac-12 institution. This all-century team represents five different decades, and is comprised of Olympians in indoor volleyball, beach volleyball and basketball.

A panel that was made up of current coaches, former players and members of the media conducted voting. Notable voting participants include Pac-12 Networks women’s volleyball on-air personalities Chris Marlowe, Don Shaw and Amy Gant; ‘Seattle Times’ volleyball writer Terry Wood; and sports columnist Ann Killion.

Stanford leads all schools with nine players selected, followed by USC (2), Washington (2), Arizona (1), California (1) and UCLA (1).

Logan Tom earned Pac-12 Women’s Volleyball Player of the Century honors, with Andy Banachowski being named the Pac-12 Women’s Volleyball Coach of the Century.

Tom is Stanford’s fifth four-time AVCA All-American, and led the Cardinal to two Pac-10 titles and the 2001 NCAA Championship. A two-time AVCA National Player of the Year and the volleyball winner of the Honda Award as a junior and senior, Tom was also named the NCAA Final Four MVP in 2001. She was named to the NCAA Final Four All-Tournament team three times during her career. A four-time All-Pac-10 selection, Tom was voted the Pac-10 Player of the Year in 2001 and 2002, in addition to receiving Pac-10 Freshman of the Year honors in 1999. Tom went on to become a four-time Olympian for the United States and won silver medals at the 2008 and 2012 games.

Banachowski, the winningest Division I women’s volleyball coach in history, retired in 2010 following a 43-year career with the UCLA women’s volleyball program. His final career record was 1,106-301 (.786). Banachowski, the first women’s volleyball coach inducted into the National Volleyball Hall of Fame (1997), coached at least one All-American in each of his last six seasons. Since the NCAA began sponsoring women’s sports in 1981, the Bruins appeared in 11 Final Fours under Banachowski, winning championships in 1984, 1990 and 1991 and earning runner-up finishes in 1981, 1983, 1992 and 1994. In 1997, Banachowski became the first women’s volleyball coach in history to be inducted into the National Volleyball Hall of Fame as a coach.
