Erika Coimbra’s Swollen Leg

What happened now?

Brazilian outside hitter Erika Coimbra seems to be prone to injuries. When she played in Turkey last year, she had a serious injury which required surgery.

And now?

Well the 2000 Olympic bronze medalist has a swollen leg due to a blood clot. Erika is scheduled to have surgery today.

“I go to the hospital for the removal of the clot. We need to open the leg back into the blood is flowing normally. Luckily, I am being accompanied by a doctor. I will return to the court in three weeks or hopefully sooner.” per Erika’s statement.

In case you didn’t know, Erika plays for Igtisadchi in the Azerbaijan League together with Tayyiba Haneef Park (USA) and Yuko Sano (Japan).

Here’s the pic she tweeted:

That looks pretty serious Erika!

Well, we’re glad to hear you’re getting it treated right away before it balloons to the next level.
