Our favorite Canadian Beach Volleyball Player, MARTIN READER, is currently in Aalsmeer, The Netherlands to compete in CEV’s first ever indoor sand tournament. BB is playing with this guy named Schalk. Martin and partner entered the touney as Wild Card winners representing Canada of course!
In Round 1, the Canadian duo won a dramatic 3rd set: 15-13. Scores for sets 1 and 2 were 17-21 / 21-14 against Boersma E.-Spijkers (NED). The match lasted for 58 mins. Then they won another epic match which went to a tiebreak against Turkey’s Sekerci-Gögtepe (21-18, 12-21, 15-13).
Reader and Schalk are just one match away from winning a spot in the semis. In Round 3 of the tournament, they will face another Dutch team, world class player Richard Schuil and Stiekema. (What happened to Nummerdor? Schuil’s partner in the last few seasons.)
Anyways, we wish Reader and partner the BEST! Win hard and play hard BBs!
