Sheilla & Unilever Remain Undefeated!

Coach Rezende is very happy for sure!

Sheilla, Dani Lins, Valeskinha & Team Unilever remain as the only undefeated team in the Superliga after the First Round with 11 victories.

Sheilla Castro remains in great shape and remains as Unilever’s top scoring machine.  She even scored 34 pts in one the matches against Mackenzie. With Mari still recovering from injury & hopes to return soon, Setter Dani Lins also relies on her middle blockers: Valeskinha (top blocker in Superliga history) & rising star Juciely. Fabi, the libero, is in charge of Unilever’s defense. Regiane and Suelle, the outside hitters, have provided stability on the team. Coach Rezende is doing an amazing job so far!

The other favorites to win the Superliga in our opinion are:

OSASCO: The 2010 Superliga Champion & Silver medalist from the 2010 Club World Championship has what it takes to put a great fight against Unilever and defend the Superliga crown but needs to work on consistency. Jacqueline shine at times but the wife of Murilo has struggled against stronger teams, ie Unilever. Her offense has been off and has somewhat showed a lack of confidence (just our opinion). The setter Carol has relied heavily on her opposite Natalia and middle blockers: Thaisa and Adenizia.

VOLEI FUTURO: When the team is on then they are hard to stop but when the players are out of sync then they become fragile and beatable. It’s great to see Paula back and her leadership helps her team for sure! Aside from the forgettable serve she did after her birthday last week, Paula is starting to gain momentum and confidence. The MVP of the 2008 Olympics is getting her game back and she’s one of the players to watch in the next round. American libero Sykora has been digging a lot of balls and remains reliable in that category. Alisha Glass is recovering from an injury and will be setting her teammates again hopefully in the second round. Fabiana Claudino leads her team in blocks and remains as one of the best middle players in the league.
