A Star Player Turned Prostitute.

This is a major, major problem! Not just in Third World countries but also in countries like the USA.

Meet Julie (not her real name), she used to be a star volleyball player and a very talented pianist. A guy friend invited her to his house hoping for a great time but she ended getting gang raped by the boy and 4 other friends. At 15, Julie felt her life had lost its purpose.

She didn’t tell her parents and started living in astray. Julie tried smoking weed and became every man’s toy. The wrong choices she made eventually ruined her life. Julie dropped out of school, left home and then met this man aka a “pimp” who abused her and turned her into a prostitute.

Julie was making $1,000 per stranger she slept with and was physically abused by her pimp when she failed to reach the quota.

Eventually, this dark moment in Julie’s life ended when the man got caught in California and was rescued by Children of the Night, a non-profit organization founded by Lois Lee in 1979.. A peaceful sanctuary for kids like Julie which provides a special place for them to live and begin the transition to live a normal life.

Since her rescue, Julie has started living the life she once dreamed of before the rape incident which changed her life. Whatever happened to the pimp? He’s serving a 77 year and a half sentence.

According to this article, Sex Trafficking is also a major problem in the United Stated and not just in the poor countries wherein little kids are sexually exploited by dirty men with deep pockets. American cities like Seattle, Las Vegas, Portland and Hawaii have sex trafficking cases. No cities or countries are immune to sex trafficking. It’s everywhere!

Article fact: Trafficking minors for prostitution is the third highest money-maker for organized crime in the U.S. Only gun and drug sales are higher. Teens are recruited in arcades, malls, entertainment centers, tourist attractions, concerts and even schools.

Dang! Scary fact but true. If you happen to know someone or you’re a victim of sex trafficking and even  a victim of sexual abuse, don’t keep it to yourself and start ruining your life. There’s always someone out there can talk to.

Don’t Fear! Don’t be Ashamed! Speak Up! It’s not wrong to report these pimps or sexual abusers. Send them to jail!
