Bulgaria Fires Coach Due to SEXTING?

So not cool coach!

Dragutin Baltic has been fired from his position by the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation due to indecent proposals which involves sexting texting his 2 middle blockers, Hristina Ruseva and Tsvetelina Zarkova, to come to his hotel room at around 2:00AM.

“Knock on the door three times, so I know it is you and be discreet” -Baltic.

The players complained to the Federation and investigated the incident. Despite denying the allegations, the federation released him due to “inefficient training process and poor results in friendly matches before the European Championship”. Source says the Federation could not find a valid proof about the sexual harassment reports from the athletes.

Regardless what the reason is, at least he is fired and assistant coach, Dimo Tonev, is now the acting coach of the team.

Side Dish: The Bulgarian women’s team has achieved any of their goals for the 2011 season which includes winning a spot for the 2012 World Grand Prix and advancing to the Final Round of the European League. Some veteran players like setter Diana Nenova and libero Mariya Filipova have been dropped from the roster while star player Eva Yaneeva (pictured above) has been missing in action.

We really hope the Federation can strengthen their volleyball program, ie the women’s team. They have so many talented athletes. Sadly, the scandals have overshadowed the skills of their players. Regardless of what’s going on at the moment, we still wish them the best! We hope they get a good result at the 2011 European Champs which kicks off next week.
