Marent Brinker Fromm & Germany Stun Brazil

After 16 years in world level matches, Germany FINALLY won against Brazil yesterday in the opening match of the Volleyball Nations League. Tandara and team could not pull through against Maren Brinker Fromm, Louisa Lippman and her squad in front of their home fans.

Brazil 1-3 Germany (25-15 / 22-25 / 18-25 / 20-25)

In case you didn’t know, Germany last won against Brazil at the bronze medal match of the 2002 FIVB Grand Prix.

In yesterday’s match, Brazilians seemed flat and could not find their momentum in sets 2, 3 and 4. On the other hand, the Germans led by veteran Brinker-Fromm displayed amazing defense and crushed the Brazilians with tough serves after losing set 1.

Tandara was Brazil’s best scorer with 16 points while Brinker-Fromm scored 20 points for the winning team.
