THIS IS JUST WRONG AND PAINFUL.
Italian Opposite hitter, Valentina Diouf, was initially named on the Olympic roster over a week ago by Coach Bonitta and started to get excited to make her Olympic debut at 23 years old.
Sadly, it is no longer the case.
Coach Bonitta made a last minute decision to replace Valentina with the then-injured-but-now-recovered Alessia Gennari. Valentina found out about her fate via a text message sent by Coach Bonitta.
VERY WRONG!
With this heartbreaking and soul crushing news, Diouf took her emotions to Instagram and posted this:
Ringrazio chi mi sostiene sempre e comunque vi voglio bene mi date la forza❤ ma ringrazio ancora di più chi tenta inutilmente di metterci il carico da 90 su questa situazione già pesantissima di suo. Siete per me un incentivo, ogni volta che dite che sono “macchinosa ” lenta scarsa in calo…(la fantasia non vi manca troverete altri aggettivi) alimentate solo la mia voglia di riscatto.
She is thanking who have always loved and supported her in every step of the way. Most of all, she is telling those people who call her slow that she will use their hurtful words to describe her as an athlete as a source of her REDEMPTION.

In an interview released by oasport.it, Valentina revealed that she is ANGRY at Coach Bonitta.
“I received his text message at 8:30 AM yesterday morning (July 22nd/23rd?). He destroyed my dream. He didn’t have the courage to tell me in person. I am hurt with the fact I am staying home and will not be in Rio. A coach’s duty is to choose who he wants for the good of the team. It’s obvious that not everyone will be happy. But there are different ways to communicate upon making the choice.”
If you recall, Valentina was excluded from the team who competed at the World Olympic Qualification Tourney where Italy qualified for the Olympics.
