No Ebata, No Koga On Japan’s Olympic Roster

WHATTTT???!!!??

To be honest, we’re quite surprised 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Yukiko Ebata and young #volleyball sensation Sarina Koga are NOT on the Olympic roster. Coach Manabe decided to bring Nabeya and a backrow specialist Zayasu.

BUT we respect Manabe’s choices. At the end of the day, he knows what’s best for the team.

12 players in Olympic at #Riodejaneiro Saori Kimura’s first stint as captain of the team in the Olympic Games.

Final Roster:

Setters: Miyashita, Tashiro
Opposite Hitters: Nagaoka, Sakoda
Outside Hitters: Kimura, Ishii, Nabeya, Zayasu
Middle Blockers : Araki, Shimamura, Yamaguchi
Libero: Sato

Only Saori, Sakoda, Yamaguchi and Araki are the returning players from the 2012 Olympic team.
