Coach Rezende Invites Sidao But Says NO!

It looks like Sidao is still hurt from getting cut because he has refused to rejoin the team after Coach Rezende asked him to replace the injured Mauricio.

In an article relased by esportes.estadao.com.br, Sidao says NO to Coach Rezende after getting invited to join the team to replace an injured player.

“First of all, I want to make everything clear. I support Mauricio on his way to recovery.

Bernardo Rezende asked me come back but I refused. I am the only who knows what I had to go through after he cut me from the roster. I actually asked him (Rezende) why he did not give me the opportunity to show what I could do in the World League.

Things are not that simple. I am only human.

It’s so easy for him (Rezende) to call me and invite me because he knows I am 100% ready since I am training with my club team. He knows that I wanted to be in Rio so bad to get another chance to fight for gold.

I have my own convictions.

I am a man and I have a family. I talked to my wife (Dani Lins) and she is the only one who knows how much I suffered after getting cut.

I do not regret saying no to Rezende. It’s my choice.”

Obviously, Sidao and Rezende have tons of issues that’s why Sidao is NOT going to play for Brazil.

We respect Sidao’s decision but the Olympics is a chance for any athlete to give glory and gold to his country. We were hoping he’d swallow his pride and be there for the team and not for Rezende.
