Argentina’s Nicolas Uriarte Skips Rio Olympics

BUT WHY???!!!???

Argentinian setter Nicolas Uriarte is officially NOT going to play in the 2016 Olympics. This news has also been confirmed by head coach Julio Velasco. There’s no clear reason why he is not going to the Olympics but Coach Velasco makes it clear that it is Nico’s personal decision not to play.

According to rumors, Uriarte has stopped training with the team upon knowing he will play as a backup setter to the great Luciano De Cecco in the Olympics. With this decision, he is not in the best shape to be on the Olympic squad & has been dropped by Coach Velasco.

Whatever his reasons are, we’re sad that he won’t be in Rio.
