USA Roster For FIVB World Championship

No Russell Holmes?

We’re SAD.

No doubt Team USA is one of the top favorites to win the World Championship after winning the FIVB World League last month. With superstar Matt Anderson and current volleyball sensation & World League Taylor Sander, USA has what it takes to give Russia or Brazil a run for their money.

Let’s not forget star setter Micah Christenson.

Also, it’s great to Alfred Reft back on the roster after missing the 2013 season due to an injury.

From USA Volleyball:

1. Matt Anderson (OH/Opp, 6-9, West Seneca, N.Y., Penn State)
3. Taylor Sander (OH, 6-4, Huntington Beach, Calif., BYU)
4. David Lee (MB, 6-8, Alpine, Calif., Long Beach State)
6. Paul Lotman (OH, 6-7, Lakewood, Calif., Long Beach State)

The U.S. Men will open the World Championship in Pool D along with Belgium, France, Iran, Italy and Puerto Rico. The top four finishers will advance to the second round, either in Łódź or Bydgoszcz. A total of 24 teams are competing in Poland.

2008 Olympic gold medalist Sean Rooney is reportedly injured. Before we forget, Sean is going to be a first time dad this year.

Clay Stanley is still not in great shape to play BUT over the weekend his wifey gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Congrats Clay!

As for Reid Priddy, he is still recovering from a knee injury which required surgery.
