Malagurski Gives Up

Heartbreaking!

If this didn’t happen to her, she would’ve made it to London.

For someone so young yet so talented, we can’t fathom the hearbreak of not making it to the Olympics which is every athlete’s dream.

Serbian outside hitter, Sanja Malagurski, has officially announced a few days ago that she has given up on her Olympic dream. Since her injury last November, Sanja has received the treatment needed to prepare for the London Olympics but unfortunately she has NOT fully recovered.

“This is one of the most difficult decisions I had to make in the last couple of years. My leg is not 100% okay 2 weeks before the London Olympics and therefore I am not physically ready to compete. Coach Terzic and I made a deal that I would play in London if I’d be 100% recovered.” according to the 22 year old in a statement released by sport.blic.rs.

Here’s Sanja full statement in Serbian:

Sanja will continue her therapy in Italy where she will play for Italian club team, Asystel MC Carnaghi Villa Cortese, this coming pro season.

We’re sad that she will miss London but above all we wish her the BEST! Hold your head up high Sanja! We hope to see you 4 years from now at the 2016 Olympics in Brazil!
