Barbolini Replaces Cardullo

O M G!

What a major major blow for Italy!

Just 8 days before the 2012 London Olympics, one of the world’s best liberos, Paola Cardullo, has withdrawn from the Italian squad. The reason? She has NOT fully recovered from a right ankle injury.

Paola has tried all the treatment she could get to compete in London but unfortunately she is not 100% cleared to play against the world’s best teams in London.

Cardullo has been replaced by Monica de Gennaro, another libero who competed for Italy at the 2012 Grand Prix.

Italy is in Pool A together with Russia, Dominican Rep, Great Britain, Algeria and Japan.

In our opinion, Cardullo is only one of the few liberos in the world who knows how to defend the great Logan Tom. Also, Paola is not the only world known libero missing in London, Stacy Sykora (USA) & Camila Brait (BRA) won’t also be there.

Anyways, click HERE to view Italy’s Olympic Roster.

Get well Paola!
